They are waymarked in red and white for long distance (GR) trails , or white and yellow for short distance (PR) trails . GR trails cover hundreds of kilo- metres, connecting distant places and crossing various terrains, regions and areas. PR trails are shorter routes for exploring individual envi- ronments or with a specific destination such as a refuge or a particular place or point of interest.
