CULTURE IN SPAIN
BARCELONA
Its urban layout contains Roman re- mains , mediaeval neighbourhoods and some fine examples of the 20th-centu- ry avant-garde movements . The capital of Catalonia is the epitome of the modernist city. Here you can see some of the greatest architectur- al achievements of Antoni Gaudí , like the Sagrada Familia, a universal sym- bol of the city. Climb its towers to see Barcelona from the heights. In the cen- tre of the Eixample, in the Passeig de Gracia, you'll see the surprising Casa Milà , known as “La Pedrera”, a build- ing whose every line is undulating; the Casa Batlló , with its unusual and col- ourful facade; and the CasaVicens , clad in spectacular green and white tiles.
Immerse yourself in this cosmopolitan
Mediterranean city with its multitude of possibilities.
