SEGOVIA The first things that catch your eye are the impressive Fortress and the Roman Aqueduct, an amazing 2nd-century feat of engineering which is in an excellent state of repair. The modern Parador Hotel is one of the best places to savour the region's most traditional dish: roast suckling pig. It is well worth visiting the nearby La Ganja de San Ildefonso and the Royal Palace, surrounded by beautiful gardens and fountains. There you'll find
La Faisanera , a golf course designed by the famous Spanish player, José María Olazábal. There are surprising views out over the Sierra de Guadarrama mountains, an incredible place to spend a lovely sunny day. Just a few minutes from La Granja and with panoramic views over the Pontón Alto Reservoir you'll find the nine-hole ClubdeCampo El Tiro golf course. If you're looking for a more all-round experience, then the Club de Golf de Los Ángeles de San Rafael offers a wider choice.
