Pueblos de montaña MOUNTAIN VILLAGES

E n la Serra se alternan grandes pueblos como Localidades todas que han sabido con- servar su enorme patrimonio arquitectó- nico y cultural. Junto al mar se sitúan los núcleos turísticos—antiguas aldeas de pescadores—de Sant Elm, Port de Sóller o Port de Pollença. El interior. Merece la pena descubrir las poblaciones de la Serra recorriendo en coche las carreteras que las comu- nican, trayectos que revelan paisajes de montaña que a menudo confluyen con el mar. Se encontrarán pueblos de interior como Puigpunyent, a los pies de la montaña del Galatzó, la idílica aldea de Orient —con vistas panorámicas desde la iglesia—, Esporles o Bunyola, que mantienen su sabor tradicional. In the Serra large villages like Sóller, Andratx and Pollença alternate with small hamlets such as Orient, Bini- araix or Llucalcari. All of them have managed to preserve their huge archi- tectural and cultural heritage. Next to the sea we find the tourist resorts –former fishing villages– of Sant Elm, Port de Sóller or Port de Pollença. Inland. It is well worth discovering the towns and villages of the Serra by travelling along the roads that connect them up by car. These routes reveal mountain scenery which often converges with the sea. You will find inland villages like Puigpunyent, at the foot of the Galatzó mountains, the idyllic hamlet of Orient –which affords sweeping views from its church–, and Esporles or Bunyola, both of which preserve their traditional feel.
