es Trenc, an emblem of Mallorca’s ecologist movement, is a long stretch of fine white sand bathed by waters that are always turquoise, very busy in summer and frequented by nud- ists. Along with Salobrar de Campos –an area of wetlands and salt ponds–, it forms a protected area with a sur- face of nearly 1,500 hectares, where over 170 species of birds have been identified. From the beach called des Marquès, in Colònia de Sant Jordi, one can walk to es Trenc. Another good excursion is the one linking the ses Salines headland with the beach of es Caragol.
