Every summer the Roman Theatre in Mérida (Badajoz) hosts the Inter national Classical Theatre Festival: an event that transports this magical venue back in time to the 1st centu ry B.C. to recover all its splendour and its original purpose. Hidden for centuries, it was literally dug out of the ground at the beginning of the 20th century. Travel back in time and take a seat in the best preserved Ro man theatre in Europe.

The theatre and amphitheatre are part of the archaeological site in Mérida, one of the most important and largest in Spain, awarded the World Heritage designation by the UNESCO.
